History
Greater Wisconsin Sheet Metal, LLC (GWSM) was created in 2004 by Ted Rohde to provide ductwork to HVAC companies who did not have a full sheet metal fabrication shop. However, it was fabricating ductwork for the HVAC industry long before that time.
Plymouth Facility Built
In 1998, Rohde Brothers, Inc. built a new 40,000 square foot fabrication facility and purchased a full coil line and second plasma table for fabrication of their own ductwork in Plymouth, Wisconsin. When Ted and Mike Rohde purchased Rohde Brothers, Inc. from their father, Chuck Rohde, in 2000, the economy was very strong. However, by 2003, the commercial construction industry in Wisconsin had slowed down and the fabrication shop had become a financial burden on the company.
GWSM Emerges
In 2004, Ted Rohde created a separate division of Rohde Brothers, Inc. called Greater Wisconsin Sheet Metal to sell ductwork to other contractors in order to cover the huge overhead of the massive fabrication shop. Over the next three years, GWSM slowly gained a reliable customer base through their commitment to customer service and providing a quality product. At that time, the two companies began a slow process of splitting apart and becoming two entities, with Mike Rohde running Rohde Brothers, Inc. and Ted Rohde running GWSM.
Illinois Facility Opens
In 2007, Ted opened a second fabrication facility in Grayslake, IL to provide spiral pipe to the Northern Illinois HVAC market. The spiral pipe, fabricated at this facility, was complemented with the rectangular ductwork fabricated at the Plymouth facility. Together, the two locations provide a complete ductwork package for contractors in this new market. Over the past two years, GWSM’s commitment to customer service has earned it over 75 contractors in the Illinois market area.
Serving the Midwest
Today, with over 250 customers in seven Midwestern states, GWSM continues to grow based on its commitment to customer service and by providing a quality product to our customers. We look forward to earning your business.
